Class Novel: Artemis Fowl
Writing: We are continuing to focus on personal writing in addition to imaginative writing. In functional writing we will be looking at persuasive information and how this can be represented both in text and during discussions/debates.
We are continuing to develop our writing through VCOP activities (Vocabulary, Connectives, Openers and Punctuation). A Writing Review will be carried out this term.
All groups (Eco, Rights Respecting Group, Student Council and Rotakids) will continue on a Friday afternoon.
Reading: Accelerated Reader will continue to be used.
Spelling: P5-7 will continue with Active Literacy
Maths: We are continuing to develop data handling skills using different types of graphs. In addition, this term we will be looking at symmetry and continuing addition and subtraction with a focus on money.
PE: This term PE will be on a Monday afternoon with Mrs McKee. ‘Track Tuesday’ will continue to be on a Tuesday afternoon.
Library: The pupils visit the Library every Tuesday from 12-12.30pm.
Homework: Spelling homework will be given on a Monday alongside a weekly ‘Homework Hero’ competition for each year group.
Outdoor Learning: As part of the whole school’s development we will (weather permitting) be taking our learning outside on a weekly basis to incorporate maths, literacy and science projects.
